There are many smartphones out on the market currently. However the next generation of these devices will leave these current superstars of the cellular behind by many large strides. One such device in pre-launch is the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Phone.
What will the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Phone look like at launch the world is asking.
The pre-launch cell phone in its current design is white or black with a tablet style and a generous screen. It has a curved back for easy holding and has an overall attractive look to it. These superficial statements are interesting but the true technical specifications of the phone lead it into next generation territory.
What are are this mobile phones specifications?
* The device is 119.0 x 63.0 x 13.0 mm or 4.7 x 2.5 x 0.5 inches overall dependent upon which system of measurement the owner would prefer to use.
* The device weighs 135.0 grams or 4.8 ounces dependent upon personal choice of measurement.
* The device has a screen that is of 480 x 854 pixels WVGA in size with a capacity for 65,536-colors to be shown on its TFT touchscreen. For the layman this means that the screen is nearly the size of the entire front of the device. It also possess incredible color sensitivity and will not require squinting or as much scrolling to view a web page as some phones do currently.
* The device currently comes in two colors sensuous black and lustrous white. This means the overall color scheme is either a shiny black or shiny white. Either way the device catches the light well and seems to shine in the right lighting.
* The device's standard memory is a 1GB SanDisk microSD. It can have up to 16GB, 8GB included however. The memory seems to be variable due to phone pre-configuration and once the device is launched this should be noted before purchasing.
* The device's included battery limits for talk time length on individual networks has not been released yet.
* The device comes with a built in camera like many of the high-end phones on the market currently. The camera installed on this next generation phone has auto-focus, is 8.1 megapixels, and a digital zoom that lets it magnify an image in its view up to sixteen times normal size.
The camera technology is so advanced that it can recognize up to five separate faces in any given image and auto-correct to make certain they are given the best quality image in the shot. Of even more interest is the smile detection feature which allows the camera to sense a smile and capture the image at the best possible moment. There is a geo-tagging feature that allows the captured image to be tagged with the location it was taken and the ability to directly send the image to a website or blog from the phone.
The camera itself is a fairly high-end product and will easily be one of the most sought after features of this cellular device. The video settings and enhanced lighting features will even allow the camera on the phone to take video that is clear and well lit compared to the often dark and blurred images of older models.
Speaking of motion blur, the camera on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Phone comes with an auto-stabilization feature that removes a great deal of the shaking hand syndrome some individuals have when trying to use a camera without a tripod. This will allow for clearer images of higher quality.
Comparison with other Recently Launched Smartphone or App Phones.
In general the Xperia X10 is setting itself up to be a high-end device with many bells and whistles that the other phones do not seem to possess. While some of the other launches have similar design or functionality and they also use the android OS that this phone uses primarily there are key differences.
This phone is a little larger and better designed than many of them. Even those with a similar design seem to be lacking slightly if the specs for this machine hold up.
Sony Ericsson seems to be interested in moving beyond the now standard android operating systems of the current generation of phones and desires to integrate systems such as Windows mobile and Symbian among several others.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Phone seems to be setting itself up to be a major player in the next generation smartphone market. While it is neither trying to be the best in a given function nor trumpeting itself as such, the overall quality and general utility of the device combined with its exceptional aesthetic appeal make it a hot contender for the king of the next generation phone devices.
It combines tried and true hardware with the cutting edge software and equipment to use such to full utility. This will no doubt lead to this phone becoming one of the most sought after devices.
